On the one hand, it will be explained how all of de Angelis's work is based on the perspective of Viquian philology. On the other hand, it will be considered how the work of Alcide D'Orbigny, which is also in the catalog of his library for sale, became a reference for certain proto-philologists of the Río de la Plata, who in turn acquired the manuscripts and prints of said catalogue. Para ello, se propone abordar tres escena de traducción de la escritora producidas en la prensa: la publicación de una reseña biográfica en 1838 en El Nacional de Montevideo, la censura de su novela André luego de la tercera entrega del folletín en El Nacional de Buenos Aires en 1861 y una alusión, en los paratextos de una novela de Feuillet publicada en la Biblioteca Popular de Buenos Aires, a una polémica literaria mantenida entre ambos novelistas. Cada una de estas escenas nos permitirá ver la controversial recepción de la escritora, recepción in absentia ya que no se la daba a leer, pero no se dejaba de hablar de ella, sus escándalos y principios ideológicos. The increasing presence of publications in Spanish from other European publishers, coming mainly from France, and secondly, from England and Germany, made them aware of the necessary and urgent presence of Spain in controlling the American market. To the demand of individuals (businessmen and merchants, writers, political class) gathered in Americanist associations that demanded cultural policies that encompass the circulation and exchange of Spanish books in America, was added that of the historian and jurist Rafael Altamira who sought to integrate through its Americanist propaganda work, those editorial exchanges with a cultural policy of joint action that would facilitate dialogue and the definition of common programs between Spain and Spanish America. Three different modalities of circulation and reading of printed books on Wagner's work, enabled by the trip to Bayreuth, the Mecca of the "Wagnerian cult", are compared in an exploratory way. Firstly, we consider the personal narrative within the style tradition of the tourist guides in circulation during the 19th century, with the case of Miguel Cané (Jr.). Secondly, the impact of first-hand access to the complete works of the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche by the music critic Mariano Barrenechea in the pre- and post-World War I period. Finally, the interpretative work carried out by Josep Lleonart Nart - a leader of the Catalan immigrant community in Buenos Aires - as a member of a transnational group of Catalan critics and enthusiasts whose journey to the "green hill" had served as an input to translate the dramatic aspect of Wagnerian art. Focusing on two special issues dedicated to summer vacations, the research highlights the magazine's engagement with the trends and concerns of the time, such as literature, art, fashion, and travel during the summer season. Through this analysis, it is demonstrated that Elegancias sought to insert itself into the discursive representation of the summer season by the sea during the early decades of the 20th century, thus shaping the perceptions of its readers. Ultimately, this research sheds light on the cultural and historical importance of Elegancias as a transatlantic communication medium with roots in the French capital but with its own identity in the Spanish-speaking world.
